Rebecca is a first year medical student at the University of Toronto. She completed her Master’s of Science degree at the University of Toronto and Bachelor’s of Science at McGill University before starting medical school.

In addition to her medical training, Elena has extensive research experience and has worked on numerous projects during both her undergraduate and medical education. She has experience in clinical research and mostly recently completed a project in sleep and cognition and collaborated with scientists and clinicians in the US to collect sleep, transcriptome, and cognitive data on older adults.

She is passionate about patient advocacy and has had the opportunity to advocate for patients outside of the hospital through public health initiatives. She has been involved in advocating for Habitat for Humanity in Montreal and Toronto through her local school chapter by helping to organize events to educate other students about the the housing crisis and planned trips to local Habitat homes to help with the builds.

As the first in her family to attend post-secondary and medical school, Rebecca is passionate about mentorship and has been involved in several mentorship programs with elementary, high school and undergraduate students. Outside of medicine, Rebecca enjoys hiking, snowboarding, travelling, and finding the best restaurants in town.
