Brooke is a first-year medical student at the University of Florida. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science. She majored in medical sciences and minored in nutrition.
Brooke is passionate about social justice and health equity. Through her internship with RISE Coalition, a nonprofit that supports acid attack survivors, she drafted newsletters and impact reports, interviewed survivors, and helped oversee seven student chapters across the U.S. while raising funds to support programming, such as business skills training and microloans for the acid attack survivors. During the pandemic, she helped to start and run an organization that aimed to foster relationships between college students and the elderly as well as helped recruit geriatricians to speak with students and raise awareness about experiences unique to elderly patients.
During her time in college, Brooke also developed a passion for tutoring and mentoring students. She became a volunteer tutor and worked with students of many different ages. She also was a part of her school’s pre-med mentorship program and had several mentees she helped guide. Additionally, Brooke was a founding executive member of the Ohio Theta chapter of Phi Delta Epsilon, a co-ed international medical fraternity with an aim to create physicians of integrity. She gave presentations on the MCAT and medical school admissions process and served as a resource for underclassmen in the chapter.
In addition to these activities, Brooke loves biking, listening to podcasts, doing puzzles, playing with her dogs, and trying new foods.
