Author name: Glara Rhee

Glara obtained HBSc through McMaster University’s Health Sciences program (2015). She is currently a medical student at the University of Ottawa (Class of 2019). She has received numerous awards and honours throughout her undergraduate studies, and one of the highlight was receiving a Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (2011) for undertaking a variety of volunteering and challenging activities for over 100 hours. In this article, Glara reflects on how this award helped her reach higher potential.
