Tony Tan is a second-year medical student at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. He completed his Honours Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Immunology, and Health & Disease at the University of Toronto. He has been engaged in extensive research experience spanning biochemistry, perioperative care and outcomes, and global pediatric anaphylaxis. His work has been recognized at international conferences and through multiple research awards. Beyond research, Tony has been deeply involved in global and community health initiatives. With CARE International in Laos, he pioneered health education programs for adolescents in underserved villages and authored reports linking food security with the One Health approach. He has also worked with the United Nations on projects addressing violence and human trafficking. A passionate advocate for global health, Tony has immersed himself in local cultures while exploring healthcare challenges. These experiences have shaped his commitment to health equity and cross-cultural understanding. Combining academic strength with leadership and mentorship, Tony is dedicated to advancing patient-centered care and supporting the next generation of aspiring physicians.
