Gavin is a first-year medical student at the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary, where he developed an interest in human physiology and health sciences. He then pursued a Master’s of Science in Neuroscience, focusing on research applications in healthcare while gaining experience in data analysis and scientific writing. His graduate work involved exploring various approaches to understanding cognitive health and neurological conditions. Throughout his academic journey, Gavin has been actively involved with Cerebral Palsy Alberta, participating in their aqua therapy programs. He has also contributed to various research projects and presentations during his undergraduate and graduate studies. Having recently navigated the medical school application process himself, Gavin understands the challenges prospective students face. He enjoys mentoring pre-med students, providing feedback on application essays, going through mock interviews, and sharing insights about the journey to medical school. His goal is to support others in achieving their aspirations in medicine while continuing to develop his own skills as a future physician.
