Daphne Arguelles is an incoming medical student at the University of British Columbia. Born and raised in Toronto, she completed her Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto Mississauga, specializing in Neuroscience. She was accepted to UBC as an out-of-province applicant and is also a re-applicant who navigated gap years after graduation. Daphne has a strong interest in research and has worked across both animal and human health. Her research experiences have taken her from studying endangered black-footed ferrets at the Toronto Zoo to investigating human fertility outcomes at Sinai Health. Daphne is also passionate about mentorship and education. Over the past seven years, she has taught, trained, and mentored students across academic, leadership, and clinical settings. She especially enjoys supporting applicants who feel less naturally confident with interviews, Casper, or “selling themselves.” Outside of medicine, Daphne enjoys clay sculpting, gaming, and scenic walks with friends.
