My name is Morgan and I’m a medical student at the University of Calgary (class of 2022). My undergraduate degree was in Health and Society (Bachelor of Health Sciences) at the University of Calgary. I was fortunate enough to be accepted to medical school after my 3rd year of university, prior to the completion of my degree. I grew up in Southwestern, Ontario before coming out west for school. Athletics have always been an important aspects of my life, being an avid horseback rider in high school and member of the University of Calgary Rowing Team in undergrad. In terms of other extra-circulars, I was member of several clubs in undergrad, including co-founding the University of Calgary Baking Club. In medical school, I was involved in a student led fundraiser raising money for kids cancer, as well as initiatives aimed at working with vulnerable populations and increasing student engagement. I also have research experience, including both quantitative and qualitative, as well as wet lab. My favourite research experience was during my internship at the Smithsonian in Washington DC where my project focused on assessing the health and wellness of Smithsonian employees and understanding the barriers employees face when accessing care. Outside of medicine, I love hiking, skiing, baking and spending time with friends and family.
