Job Posting: Campus Ambassador

The MDconsultants network currently comprises more than 170 medical students, residents, and attending physicians who practice in various specialties across Canada and the United States. Our company is led by 3 physician partners who graduated from the University of Toronto and is supported professionally by a full-time managerial staff. MDconsultants started out in 2009 to provide high quality consulting services to enable aspiring healthcare professionals gain admission into programs of their choice. Since then, we’ve evolved into a predominantly physician network of talented consultants who solve diverse and challenging problems. Our current range of capabilities include admission consulting, healthcare consulting, providing professional second opinions, and delivering healthcare in a variety of settings.

We are looking to hire 2 outgoing students for the position of Campus Ambassador each at the University of Toronto – St. George and McMaster University. The main objective is to promote awareness for MD Consultants and its services at the respective university campuses. Tasks include promoting the company during Orientation Week, planning and executing innovative Campus Events, and being an advocate for the company on social media and in campus news outlets.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the other Campus Ambassador on your campus as well as the Marketing Manager to achieve the following:
  • Pass out flyers during Orientation Week clubs fair at the respective universities in September and January
  • Plan, promote, and execute 2 Campus Events (one per Fall/ Winter semester) aimed at educating students on healthcare program admissions processes
  • Utilize personal and professional networks to create awareness of MD Consultants’ services amongst the student body
  • Regularly share relevant social media content
  • Seek promotional opportunities through campus news
  • Report to the Marketing Manager on a weekly or bi-weekly basis regarding progress on event planning and promotional efforts

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Must be a student at the University of Toronto – St. George or McMaster University
  • Returning 2nd, 3rd or 4th year student
  • Involvement in or knowledge of pre-med student activities/clubs on campus
  • An interest in networking and building networks on campus
  • Strong communication skills and an outgoing personality
  • Familiarity with using social media as a marketing tool
  • Event planning experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work Sep 5 until Jan 20 for 2-10 hours a week (Duration of assignment will be approximately 16 weeks with 4 weeks of break in December with flexible schedules and a possibility to extend assignment depending on the needs of pre-med students)

Compensation
$11.40 hourly pay dependent of the number of hours worked per month,
15% commission on all sales referrals on initial purchases,
Free 1-hour consultation session with one of our partners (worth $300),
Invitation to our bi-annual consultant networking event
