Gaya is starting her Residency for Ophthalmology at Western University. Gaya graduated from medical school (class of 2020) at Western University. She completed her undergraduate degree (BSc.) and her master’s degree (MSc.) in Biological Sciences at the University of Windsor in 2011 and 2014, respectively. Her research work during this time was focused on the epigenetic landscape in the context of cancer. Gaya is a research enthusiast and is currently leading systematic reviews and meta-analyses in various topics of medicine. Gaya is passionate about community engagement and advocacy. She is involved in local political advocacy initiatives and innovation in the mental health care space. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, quality time with her family and friends, and travelling.
