Ariel completed medical school in 2019 at Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry in London, Ontario and is currently a Pathology resident at the University of Toronto. Before that, he completed the specialist program in Pathobiology at the University of Toronto.
He is a dedicated teacher, delivering lectures to undergraduate students and medical students at the University of Toronto. He has expertise in endocrine pathophysiology, bioethics and humanities research. He also has experience with one-on-one tutoring students in basic sciences.
He is particularly interested in providing mentorship opportunities to undergraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds in medicine. Ariel also produces Free Online Medical Education (FOAMed) as the clerkship director at MEDSKL, which aims to connect excellent educational content to keen medical students.
Ariel’s research interests span basic clinical sciences and the medical humanities. His research in history of medicine is focused on disease ontology, including the process of medicalization, de-medicalization, and specialization.
