I was born and raised in Toronto, ON and grew up in the west end of the city. I was a big basketball player growing up, following in the footsteps of both of my parents. I won OFSAA as a grade 12 at Oakwood Collegiate Institute before going to Santa Clara University on a basketball scholarship. After playing out my eligibility at Santa Clara, I came back to Toronto and played for U of T for a year while applying to medical school. I applied to schools in both Canada and the USA, and ended up deciding to attend Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, one of the a top 5 medical schools in the USA. I was already interested in neurosurgery upon applying to medical school, and the research avenues in neurosurgery here drew my attention. I have been here since 2015, completing a dual degree track in which I took 2 years between my pre-clinical and clinical years of medical school to pursue a Masters degree, with a research interest in molecular-based therapeutic approaches to delayed cerebral ischemia after subarachnoid hemorrhage. I am starting Residency in neurosurgery at the University of Washington in July of 2021.
