Ariel completed medical school in 2019 at Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry in London, Ontario and is currently a Pathology resident at the University of Toronto. Before that, he completed the specialist program in Pathobiology at the University of Toronto. He is interested in teaching, which includes curriculum development projects at the medical school level, as well as one-on-one tutoring students in basic sciences. He was an executive of the London branch of Altitude, a mentoring service aimed at providing opportunities to undergraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds in medicine.

As a medical student at Western, Ariel developed an interest in the medical humanities. His research in history of medicine is focused on disease ontology, including the process of medicalization, de-medicalization, and specialization. He also thinks it’s fun to talk about the history of medicine.
